I don't know if anyone has been following this story but it appears that the guy that brought you "Acorn is evil" attempted to tap the phones of a US Democratic Senator:

10yrs
Apparently this guy is quite possibly going to get ten years. Congratuloltions go to Faux News on this one for heralding a criminal as a martyr of journalistic integrity.
Poor misunderstood bastard
His lawyer is already saying that he wasn't going to actually tap phones, they were just going to be nosing around looking for dirt and listen in on shit in person. Uh huh.
Nice quote
“Don't just respond to news, but actually create your own headlines,” he said. “Make demands upon your professors. Make demands upon your university to actually change things. Don't just wait for something to happen and sit back and report on it.”

There's a line between investigative journalism and complete fake-ass bullshit. Supposedly those ACORN tapes (while pretty damning) were heavily edited and showed things that didn't happen. An example was his "pimp gear" that he showed himself in but didn't actually wear when he was taping.
