I have a speed bag bolted to the wall in my new place. My neighbour has informed me that he can hear me using it even though it's on the outer wall of a room, with another room between it and him. Bloody hell. The vibrations seem to make audible noise and I like to use it at odd hours.
Hmmmm, how can I muffle this? Anyone have any ideas?

I think I am going to try and
I think I am going to try and find some rubber spacers. An online forum also suggests putting a sand bag on the top - good luck finding that here.
Success!
I used cat litter. What an improvement in the rebound.
o.O
I'm trying to imagine where cat litter can enter this picture...
The online forums suggested
The online forums suggested adding sandbags on top of the speed bag platform. This would reduce vibration. Can't find any here so I used a couple of bags of cat litter instead.
ahhh
Ohhh i c, just sitting there on top then. One of the pictures I had was of them velcro-strapped onto the wall.
ohh
I'd thought that maybe he'd put the cat litter inside the speed bag - thus making it heavier and with a much deader rebound ergo less noise.
Interesting idea
But I think that would be darn near impossible to force litter in through the air hole. It would throw the bounce off anyways.
not sure what you're thinking
not sure what you're thinking there. Like, over the support posts?
nope
I've never seen a speed bag with support posts at all, so I was really just moving them around the room in my head strapping them on to various things to consider how on earth they could possibly dampen any sound.
By posts I should have said
By posts I should have said brackets, as in the brackets bolted to the wall. I couldn't quite picture what you meant so I was just throwing something out there.
Doesn't matter now.
I should have put up a picture.
