Thoughts on Collider

Was thinking a bit about the collider again...

I'm not entirely pleased with new items not showing up in the regular forums. I know, I know, they still appear over on the "New Forum Topics" over in the sidebar, but that is easy to miss.

Now, ideally there would be a way that all quarkians could pop an item in or out of the Collider, but that's not possible without allowing everyone to edit original posts of other people. Not sure how people would feel about that. If nobody minds, well then I'll go ahead and do that.

But otherwise, maybe when we write something new that may or may not generate some conversation, we could leave it as a normal post first. If it's around a few days and nobody bites on it for conversation, then the author or myself as moderator could pop it into the collider (by which I mean editing the posting and selecting the Particle option).

*thinks a bit* Hmm....

I think I can automate that eventually so that anything posted to the forums that doesn't have a comment after a certain amount of time will automatically enter the collider on a cron job (daily processing type thing). That's not going to happen until I'm less busy though.
