As I type this, there are 20 Guests online. Earlier there were 26. Such numbers used to be normal in the days when search spiders spam-scoured an entire site in one shot but those days are long gone, so seeing this piqued my curiosity.
I checked the status log... seems there is a hack attempt presently underway? or something?

Okay, so for most of you it just looks like I've been slacking off for months on this Collider thing. Well, that's not entirely true. Here's the new situation, please read through and tell me what you think.

As per this conversation about privacy and posts, specifically HP's comment, I found a module to do just that.
Now for any post you make, there is an option that says Make this post private.

The first two weeks of September have represented a fairly dark period in our website's history. It has unfortunately coincided with the arrival of several new, returning, and potentially-new Quarkians, making my post here of even greater importance.

I know what you're thinking. Just remember, the LHC took like a decade to be built, so cut me some slack.

So I've just been made aware of an error on the front page that is coming up for people who aren't logged in. I know what's causing it but am not yet sure how to fix it (or why the hell it started happening). I poked around a bit tonight but didn't manage to solve it. I do not see anything else that is affected though, so there's no reason people can't continue to use the site as normal.

I'm sure you've been wondering since it's said Coming Soon for awhile now. Well... it turned out to be a little more complicated than I had hoped. I tried a custom module that allows creation of new content types (CCK) that I thought would do the trick, but it sucked and wasn't very flexible.
